With almost 20 years of online experience and coming from the world of entrepreneurship and self-employment, Hannu joined Denmark’s largest retail group, Dansk Supermarked in 2010. His role was to build an e-commerce branch in the group’s hypermarket format, Bilka.
Starting more or less from scratch in a big, empty office with 2,5 student helpers he has spent the last two and a half years bulding a substantial online business with triple digit yearly growth, and an online team of 50 members. And doing it in a system (and mental) landscape only meant for brick and mortar retail and a zero-error culture.
Hannu’s strongest weapon is an unorthodox and no-nonsense approach to strategy and business development combined with a deep understanding of the fundamentals of the online business.
In 2012 Hannu was appointed e-commerce manager for the whole of Dansk Supermarked, covering the group’s other chains, føtex and Netto, and since 2013 he has acted as Head of digital with responsibility of the groups e-commerce and digital strategies.
In 2015 Hannu left Dansk Supermarked and joined envision as their Chief Digital Officer.
Hannu lives in central Aarhus with his wife and kids. Apart from having an unhealthy passion for finer foods and wine, Hannu has a thing with literature about totalitarian dictatorships as North Korea and the Sovjet Union, and, about indigenous peoples from Greenland, Australia etc. Studying the extremes of man, from total evil to total innocence (if he is awake after eating and drinking, that is).
